THE BRANDT JACKSON FOUNDATION
PRESENTS
Where Science Meets Film and Becomes Culture
Science New Wave Fund is open for submission.

We will be providing up grants ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 for approximately 5-7 science/film projects of all shapes and sizes that demonstrate a singular vision in how scientific thought is brought into cinematic narratives.

The Science New Wave Fund provides support to singular film projects that challenge and expand the role of science in the current cultural discourse and celebrate adventurous interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplines.

1. Works can be of any length, medium, origin + genre, including fiction, documentary, animation, music videos, VR/AR, games + immersive experience, performance, installation and data visualization - and of course crossbreeding + hybridizations are always welcomed.

2. Your project should speak to the traits of the Science New Wave manifesto. Check out the five 2022 inaugural recipients and our line-up of films from past festival editions to see the scope of the projects we support and present.

3. Anyone from anywhere can apply as long as this human can demonstrate a strong sense of collaboration throughout the process. If more than one person is applying, please specify this below in application. Elaborate on your relationship to project and established/planned collaborations if any.

4. SNW funds can be applied for research, development, production, post-production and distribution and even be attributed to Field Notes, that includes supplementary material accompanying a "primary source."

5. In parallel, we strongly encourage to share your project in development on Labocine by submitting it via this form and then uploading Field Notes. That said, it is completely optional. It is up to you to decide what you want to share and keep private and this is not taken into consideration in the selection process.

The SNW Fund came into being thanks to a generous support from AT&T and the WarnerMedia OneFifty. The SNW is now supported thanks you to a generous donation from The Brandt Jackson Foundation.
