The Symbiosis initiative is a unique incubator launched seven years ago by Imagine Science Films. It brings together scientists and filmmakers at-large to collaborate and make science films during the length of the one-week annual film festival.

The theme of this year's Symbiosis is CRISIS THROUGH THE LENS OF MIGRATION

We encourage filmmaker/scientist pairs to explore the ISFF13 Festival theme "Migration" through the lens of the current pandemic. The collaboration aims to explore the many ways of living through a pandemic from 'forced co-existence" to "harmonious symbiotic relationships" and everything in-between.

These resulting films will be presented at the closing night of the 13th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival on October 23, 2020.
This initiative is possible through the support of Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation dedicated to inspiring a deeper interest in science, especially among those who don't think of themselves as science enthusiasts. Science Sandbox supports and collaborate with programs that unlock scientific thinking in everyone.
