Cédric Villani may be known to the general public as “The Lady Gaga of Mathematics” for his flamboyant style and eccentric manner. Yet, at the panel discussion for the opening night of the UCD Imagine Science Festival in Dublin, Irish audience members were captivated most by Cédric’s impressive insights into the connections between creativity in art and science.
The panel discussion followed a screening of Fermat’s Room, which was hosted in partnership with the Ambassade de France in Ireland. Cédric joined the film’s director/writer team Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopeña to discuss the scientific underpinnings of the math thriller. Watch the video featured above for a glimpse at the discussion.
